Summer at School
It is so quiet most of the time here in the summer. Mark, Jolene and the kids are working so hard getting the building ready for that first day. Right now I am looking forward to a few days away from my desk, but I can't help but be excited about what the fall will bring. Even after 40 years of going to school I still love that first day back. Everything is clean and shiny and new. For me working in a school is like getting 2 New Year's Days each year. It is always an opportunity to evaluate the old and make plans for the new. It is a great time to set goals and really think about who you want to be this year. Change happens all the time. I hope all staff and students really evaluate who they were as a learner, a teammate, a friend, a leader, a person during the 2009-2010 school year. It is never too late to be who you really want to be. Enjoy the rest of summer. Things are arriving daily for the 1:1 initiative. Teachers are being trained and we are all excited about the the changes you will see in the 2010-2011 school year.

I have to use an air card at home to access the internet, so I don't check the email as often as I would like. Your blog is great! The summer is quickly passing and, I too, look forward to the "new year!" I am somewhat overwhelmed by the new technology, but, with practice, I am hoping that it all comes together! Between the computer and the Smartboard - a lot to learn! I look forward to your next blog! Enjoy your summer! Linda P.S. Speaking of technology - I wasn't sure how I was supposed to post this comment, so we will see what happens! :)
