Summer at School

It is so quiet most of the time here in the summer. Mark, Jolene and the kids are working so hard getting the building ready for that first day. Right now I am looking forward to a few days away from my desk, but I can't help but be excited about what the fall will bring. Even after 40 years of going to school I still love that first day back. Everything is clean and shiny and new. For me working in a school is like getting 2 New Year's Days each year. It is always an opportunity to evaluate the old and make plans for the new. It is a great time to set goals and really think about who you want to be this year. Change happens all the time. I hope all staff and students really evaluate who they were as a learner, a teammate, a friend, a leader, a person during the 2009-2010 school year. It is never too late to be who you really want to be. Enjoy the rest of summer. Things are arriving daily for the 1:1 initiative. Teachers are being trained and we are all excited about the the changes you will see in the 2010-2011 school year.

June 15

I am excited about O-M implementing the 1:1 initiative this fall. It is a great opportunity for staff and students to become better prepared for the world we live and work in. Learning to use technology to engage and challenge our students will create new learning for all of us. Part of my new learning is creating this blog as a form or communication with students, staff, parents and community. It is my goal to update weekly what has been happening at O-M. Please feel free to comment.
